About us
Rights, relief and peace, where life is hardest.
Impact for Change and Development is a Nigerian not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation. We take a rights-based approach to our work, with the aim of bringing relief and empowerment to people in difficult circumstances.
Our mission
To bring succour to those in difficult circumstances and situations, through the protection and promotion of their rights, and empower them for positive changes and sustainable development.
Our vision
The obliteration of all forms of human rights violations against children, young persons and women, and the complete eradication of all forms of violent conflict and disaster.
At a glance
Who we are
We were incorporated in November 2003 and began operations on 4 January 2004, from a first office on Borno Way in Yaba, Lagos. We work today from a head office in Magboro, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, and from a Niger Delta office in Asaba, Delta State.
We are built on the experience and passion of our board of trustees and a committed staff team. That team is multi-disciplinary by design, because the work asks for it: conflict and peace studies, law, education, psychology, youth development and social work all sit around the same table.
Alongside the NGO, we run a not-for-profit consultancy arm, IMPACT Consult, which takes on research, needs assessment, impact assessment, training and the development of training manuals in our areas of expertise.
Our focus is on children, young persons and women in difficult circumstances, and the institutions whose decisions shape their safety.

Funding
How our work is funded
We source funds from bodies within and outside Nigeria whose programme focus we can identify with, and who support and collaborate with us on projects as they unfold.
Alongside individual project funds, we seek longer-term institutional support. That kind of funding lets us plan properly and get crucial projects off the ground, so they can be built on and expanded later.
